There are 140+ active bookmaker brands in Australia. Here's the complete registry — who owns what, which are white-labels, and which are the real books.
Every global odds API skips Australian racing. Here is what a complete racing data API actually needs — fields, fixed odds, exchange, tote, sectionals, connections — and who carries it.

Ask how many bookmakers operate in Australia and you will get answers ranging from "about a dozen" to "hundreds". Both are defensible, because the question is ambiguous. There are 140+ live brands you can open an account with. There are roughly eleven genuinely independent pricing operations behind them.
That gap — between brand count and price count — is the single most useful thing to understand about the Australian market. It explains why so many "different" bookmakers show identical odds, why some arbitrage opportunities get voided, and why line shopping still produces real money despite the apparent proliferation of choice.
This is the complete registry, organised by who actually sets the price.
Australia's online wagering market is licensed at state and territory level, but in practice one jurisdiction dominates.
| Licensing body | Who it licenses | Approx. share of brands |
|---|---|---|
| Northern Territory Racing Commission | Corporate online bookmakers | ~90% |
| Tasmanian Liquor & Gaming Commission | Betfair Australia (exchange) | 1 operator |
| State racing/gaming regulators | TAB, TABtouch and state totalisators | Handful |
| Federal (ACMA) | Enforcement under the Interactive Gambling Act | Overlay on all of the above |
The NT's dominance is historical: it built a licensing regime for online wagering early and priced it competitively, and the industry standardised on it. Every corporate book you have heard of, plus almost every one you have not, holds an NT licence irrespective of where its office actually is.
These operations run their own trading desks and set their own prices. When two of them disagree, that disagreement is real and tradeable.
| Brand | Corporate group | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sportsbet | Flutter | Largest AU book by turnover; sharp on AFL/NRL, aggressive limiting |
| Betfair Exchange | Flutter | Exchange, not a bookmaker; commission model, does not limit winners |
| Ladbrokes | Entain | Shares pricing with Neds and Betstar |
| Neds | Entain | Same book as Ladbrokes with different UI and promos |
| Betstar | Entain | Legacy brand, same Entain feed |
| bet365 | bet365 | Deepest market breadth; often the sharpest AU price on international sport |
| TAB | TAB group | Fixed odds plus totalisator pools; shares feed with Unibet AU and TABtouch |
| Unibet AU | TAB group | Same underlying pricing as TAB |
| TABtouch | TAB group | WA-facing brand on the same group feed |
| PointsBet | PointsBet | Strong US sports coverage; distinctive alternate-line depth |
| BlueBet | BlueBet | Independent trading; competitive racing top-fluc offers |
| Betr | Betr Holdings | Grouped with BetRight and BoomBet |
| BetRight | Betr Holdings | Live odds feed; same group as Betr |
| BoomBet | Betr Holdings | Same group |
| Palmerbet | Palmerbet | Family-owned; solid racing coverage |
| Dabble | Dabble | Social-first product; distinct market selection |
| PlayUp | PlayUp | Smaller independent |
That is seventeen brands running on roughly eleven independent pricing engines. Everything below this line is a reseller.
This is where the "140+" number comes from. A handful of platform providers supply a complete betting operation — pricing feed, risk management, wallet, compliance — to anyone who wants to launch a brand. The brands compete on marketing and promotions, not on price, because they are all displaying the same numbers.
The largest white-label network by brand count. Brands running on it include DashBet, WinnersBet, PandaBet, NinjaBet, BetNova, BoostBet, AllBets, VicBet, EliteBet, HotBet, GoldBet, HavaBet, JimmyBet, JustBet, LetsBet, PuntNow, UltraBet, PuntZone and BetGold.
Nineteen brands, one price. If you see an "arb" between two GenWeb brands, it is a data artefact rather than an opportunity.
The second-largest network. Brands include BetFocus, BetAlpha, BetBlitz, BetBuzz, BetChamps, BetDragon, BetReal, BlondeBet, CashCage, ChaseBet, LightningBet, MillennialBet, MintBet, RipperBet, StarSports, TeamBet, TopBet, TradieBet, TrueBet, WizBet and XBet.
Runs roughly ten brands including BetDeluxe, Surge, BetNation and Noisy. Notable for reasonably competitive racing prices relative to other white-label networks.
A wholesale racing-focused platform servicing 22+ brands. BetMakers is a listed technology supplier rather than a consumer brand — you interact with its output through the brands it powers.
Smaller platform providers servicing a handful of brands each, on the same model.
| Platform | Approx. brands | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| GenWeb | 19+ | Racing and sport |
| PuntersTech | 21+ | Racing-led |
| BetMakers Nimbus | 22+ | Racing wholesale |
| Amused / BlackStream | 10 | Racing and sport |
| BetCloud | Several | Turnkey wagering |
| Apollo Tech | Several | Turnkey wagering |
| BetEngine / GRSBet | 2 | Racing |
Structurally different from bookmakers because there is no house position — you are matched against another customer.
Two consequences you will feel directly.
Voided arbitrage. Bookmakers within a corporate group share risk systems. Backing one side at Ladbrokes and the other at Neds is visible to Entain as a single customer position, and those bets get voided or the account gets closed. The same applies across every white-label brand on a shared platform. Any tool that presents a Ladbrokes/Neds pair as an arbitrage is producing noise.
The Krok Odds arbitrage scanner suppresses same-group pairings server-side, with a deliberate exemption for Betfair — Sportsbet and Betfair are both Flutter, but the exchange is a genuinely independent price and those pairs are legitimate.
False price diversity. A comparison site listing 40 bookmakers on a race looks impressive but may be showing you six distinct prices repeated. Judge a comparison tool by how many independent price sources it covers, not by brand count.
For most Australian punters, coverage matters more than loyalty. A practical set:
White-label brands launch and disappear on a cycle measured in months. Any static list published today will be wrong within a quarter. What does not change is the structure: a small number of independent price-setters, a much larger number of brands reselling them, and one exchange.
For a live view of which books are currently active, which sports and markets each covers, and which are direct-scrape versus feed-sourced, our coverage page is maintained as the authoritative list and updated whenever a source is added or removed.
Krok Odds shows every price side by side with same-group pairings suppressed, so you see real disagreement between independent books rather than duplicated white-label feeds.
